ABSTRACT: The study examined the role of early childhood education in promoting health literacy among young children. Objectives included assessing the level of health literacy, identifying effective educational practices, and evaluating the long-term benefits of early health education. A survey design was chosen for its ability to collect extensive data from varied respondents. Purposive sampling was employed to select 220 children from preschools in Anambra State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children who received health education in their early years had a better understanding of health concepts, healthy habits, and disease prevention. Interactive activities such as health talks, hygiene demonstrations, and healthy eating programs were particularly impactful. The study recommended that early childhood education programs integrate comprehensive health education to promote health literacy from an early age.
